AURAE FORTIFICATIO is a botanical ritual oil created for the strengthening, fortification and harmonization of the energetic field. It belongs to the Ars Alchemica by Frater Setnakh, a collection inspired by the old relationship between plants, ritual practice and the alchemical understanding of Nature.

The botanicals used in this preparation are personally gathered by Soror Vanarotha and Frater Setnakh in carefully selected natural areas of the Owl Mountains, part of the ancient Sudetes of Lower Silesia, Poland. Rather than using anonymous mass-produced herbal material, we wanted the preparation of AURAE FORTIFICATIO to begin at its true source: with the plants themselves, their place of growth and the conscious act of gathering them.

The herbs are slowly infused in sunflower oil, allowing the botanical material to remain in contact with the carrier oil over time. Each batch is prepared in limited quantities.

THE FIVE BOTANICAL FORCES

ROSE • Rosa
Traditionally associated with love, harmony, beauty and the heart. Within AURAE FORTIFICATIO, Rose represents the harmonizing and restorative aspect of the formula. In Western esoteric symbolism, the rose has long been connected with Venus, refinement, spiritual love and the unfolding of the inner self.

HORSETAIL • Equisetum
One of the most ancient surviving groups of vascular plants, Equisetum carries a particularly appropriate symbolism for a preparation devoted to fortification. Its rigid, segmented structure evokes resilience, endurance, boundaries and stability. Ritually, we associate Horsetail with strengthening the energetic structure and maintaining integrity against external influences.

NETTLE • Urtica
A plant traditionally surrounded by associations of protection, strength and boundary-setting. Its unmistakable sting made Nettle a natural symbol of defence in European folk tradition. Within the formula, it represents protection, energetic resilience and the ability to establish a stronger personal boundary.

FRANKINCENSE • Boswellia
Frankincense has accompanied sacred and ritual practice for thousands of years. Its aromatic resin has been used in religious ceremonies, incense and contemplative practice across numerous cultures. In AURAE FORTIFICATIO, Boswellia represents purification, elevation and the preparation of a space or person for deliberate spiritual work.

ROSEMARY • Rosmarinus
Traditionally associated with purification, remembrance, clarity and protection. Rosemary has a particularly long history in European herbal and folk traditions. Ritually, we use its symbolism here to represent cleansing, clarity, vigilance and protection of the energetic space.
